Caspar BerryPoker Expert

Caspar Berry was the poker adviser on the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royale. Caspar read Economics and Anthropology at Cambridge University and had his first screenplay produced by Film Four whilst still in his final year at university. By the time he was 23, Caspar was writing for Miramax and Columbia Tri Star. Then at the age of 25, he took the decision that would dramatically change his life, he moved to Las Vegas and became a professional poker player. Caspar played poker professionally.

Nick BostromFuturologist / Professor

Nick Bostrom is Director of the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University where he runs the Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology. He is widely considered to be the most influential "futurist" in the world. Bostrom is the founding Director of the Future of Humanity Institute, a multi-disciplinary research centre that enables a number of exceptional mathematicians, philosophers, and scientists to think carefully about global priorities and consider the large questions for humanity.

Jeffrey GrossmanProfessor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Dr. Jeffrey Grossman has developed entirely new ways to encourage idea generation and creativity in interdisciplinary science. He is Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At MIT, he heads a research group devoted to understanding, predicting, and designing novel materials with applications in energy conversion, energy storage, and thermal transport. Before joining MIT, Professor Grossman founded and headed the Computational Nanoscience research group at the University of California, which focused on designing new materials for energy applications.

Viktor Mayer-SchönbergerBig Data Expert

Viktor Mayer-Schönberger, a sought-after expert for print and broadcast media, is a Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at the Oxford University. He is an international best-selling author of eight books, over a hundred articles and book chapters on the Information Economy. Professor Mayer-Schönberger is also on the boards of foundations, think tanks and organizations focused on studying the Information Economy. He advises governments, businesses and NGOs on new economy and information society issues.

Sugata MitraGlobal Authority on Education

Sugata Mitra is a global authority on education and described by The Times newspaper as a “Global Education Superstar”. He is Professor of Educational Technology at Newcastle University in the UK and previously was a Visiting Professor at MIT in the US. He is renowned for his “Hole in the Wall” experiment which has shown that, in the absence of supervision or formal teaching, children can teach themselves and each other, if they’re motivated by curiosity and peer interest. Sugata's work inspired the book ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ that went on to become the Oscar winning film of 2009.

She works together with organizations to explore the opportunities and challenges of possible futures in order to create and manage change. Her projects focus on building a flexible mindset to engage with alternatives and to develop visions, services and experiences that work towards desired futures.

Jorgen RandersProfessor of Climate Strategy

Jørgen Randers is professor of climate strategy at the BI Norwegian Business School, where he works on climate issues and scenario analysis. Previously he was president of BI and deputy director general of WWF International in Switzerland. He is a nonexecutive member of a number of corporate boards and sustainability councils. Jorgen Randers has received many prizes and awards. He is honorary doctor of Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge UK and a full member of the Club of Rome.

Jeremy Rifkin is one of the best known economists and one of the most influential US-American intellectuals. He is the bestselling author of numerous books on the impact of scientific and technological changes on the economy, the workforce, society and the environment. Rifkin has been an advisor to the EU for the past 15 years as well as to many governments worldwide. He is president of the Foundation on Economic Trends and senior lecturer at the Wharton School's Executive Education Programme at the University of Pennsylvania.

Saskia SassenGlobalisation Theorist

The US-American sociologist Saskia Sassen is noted for her analyses of globalizarion and international human migration. She coined the term “global city” – cities where globalisation is “made”. Saskia Sassen is Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and Centennial Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. Her research and writing focuses on globalisation and immigration, the new networked technologies as well as changes within the liberal state that result from current transnational conditions.
